well, i fell out of blogger world for awhile (blame Twilight and Facebook) and figured maybe I should post something for the handful of people that are actually going to read it! But I don't have much to blog about other than Wendell's neverending medical mysteries so here goes! He has been to a few more doctor's appointments for the cyst in his face...the ENT said it should be handled by an Oral Surgeon and the Oral Surgeon won't touch it. So today Wendell went to his 9th doctor's appointment about this thing to ANOTHER oral surgeon. This guy also has no idea how to handle the thing but isn't just throwing Wendell out the door like the other oral surgeon. He just has to go have ANOTHER cat scan...a panoramic view this time (this makes cat scan #3 along with all the dental x-rays that have been done). So he has to go to St. Joseph's hospital for that next week and then the oral surgeon will discuss it (and what to do with it) with the radiologist. He will have to have surgery to have it removed...the oral surgeon just can't get a good idea of what/where it is. Wendell also has a sinus surgery scheduled with the ENT because of other problems he found while originally looking at the cyst. Then there's his ankle....Wendell has been limping for over a year now and has been to several doctor's about that...along with several x-rays, etc. None of those doctors' "remedies" helped. He has been wearing a huge boot looking thing, had different shoe inserts, etc...nothing helped. So the latest doctor finally saw what was wrong...a split tendon (something this doctor hasn't seen since he was in residency) that will require surgery...yes ANOTHER surgery. BUT the doctor that finally found the problem...we find out...doesn't take our insurance! so now what? Wendell will have to try one of the first Podiatrists he's been to that we know take our insurance...hoping that with the better x-rays that show the split tendon, they will be able to really fix the problem! Leave it to my husband to have the complicated, one-for-the-books type ailments! So anyway...keep us in your prayers that we won't lose our minds or break the bank with all this mess!
And while you're praying...continue to pray for my friend, Rachel's, dad. He now has to have a pacemaker put in and it's a scary surgery because they have to actually stop his heart in order to put it in. craziness!
